Question: What are the coats made of?
Answer: For the Fleece Coat & Snood, I use fleece fabric on the outside with a flannel lining.  Velcro closure stomach straps.  For greyhounds,  I make the coat so it drapes down over the base of the tail.    For whippets and IGs, the coat will not drape down over the tail due to their short stature.

Question: Do I have a choice in the color or print?

Question: How much does a coat and snood cost?
Answer: The price of the greyhound coat and snood vary depending on which coat you choose. For a list of or different coats and prices, click here.  Prices do not include shipping or sales tax for Indiana residents.  Shipping is $6 for the first coat/snood, and $2 for each additional coat/snood.  Indiana residents add 7% sales tax to coat price – you do not pay tax on shipping.

Question: What is a snood?
Answer: A snood is an unattached hood for the hound coat.  It has elastic encased at one end and is worn over the head in front of the ears.  See photos.

Question: Are the coat and snood machine washable?
Answer: The fleece coat and snood are completely machine washable.  Launder on cold wash, gentle cycle.  Dryer setting on low/delicate or hang to dry. For the raincoat, machine wash, cold gentle cycle, no fabric softerner and line dry.

Question: How do I order a coat and snood?
Answer: Measure your hound according to “How to Measure” instructions.  Fill out the order form with the measurements and color choice and mail with payment to the address on the order form.  I accept checks or money orders. Question: How soon can I expect to receive the coat?
Answer: If I receive your order in the mail, I can usually make up the coat & snood the same day with shipment no later than the following day.   I use Priority Mail which usually takes 2-3 days to arrive.  The same goes for using PayPal and emailing the measurements to me.

Question: Do you make coats for other breeds?
Answer: Yes.  For Italian Greyhounds, a coat and snood is $25 plus shipping and handling and any applicable sales tax for Indiana residents.  Whippets coat and snoods sets are $30 plus shipping and handling and applicable sales tax for Indiana residents.  For any other breed, I base the price on your dog’s measurements compared to an  I.G., whippet or greyhound measurements.  Please visit our other breed page and send your dog’s measurements for quote.

Question:  What if the coat I ordered does not fit my sighthound?
Answer:   Please contact me if you feel the coat does not fit your sighthound.  In your email to me please state what you feel the problem is (too long in the length, too big around the girth, too small or too big overall).  It helps if you can email me a photo of your sighthound wearing the coat.  Once the problem is determined, I will have you mail the coat back to me for alterations.
